Stephanie Precourt

A reader wrote in about how she finds herself loving movies and TV shows featuring big families.

SusanP writes, “I LOVE The Sound of Music. I’ve watched it ever since I was a little girl, and I think part of the appeal was that there were 7 children.  I was the youngest of 8 and it was just fun to see another big family. I have played it for my kids a few times and my boys are completely engaged by it as well — and their favorite part is the same as mine when I was little — when Maria arrives and meets the 7 children.”

She adds more favorites: The Brady Bunch, 7th Heaven, and (one of my faves, too) Brothers and Sisters. The writers here at 4 Kids or More decided it would be fun to chime in about the movies and TV shows with big families that we all happen to be very fond of, too.  CLICK HERE TO READ MORE…

So many children, so little time

Right now I have one child sleeping next to me on the love seat — well actually her foot is on my shoulder, but I can still type — and another one snoozes on the couch because his top bunk was too hot. I have been telling them “No” in a gruff voice all night as [...]

Star Wars is for girls too.

Maybe it’s because I had three boys first, but I can not stand the girl toy section at Target. I think I hate it. A whole lot of pink. So much PINK. I cleaned out the finished half of our basement yesterday to transform it into a working playroom (it had previously been a non-working [...]
